In the initial background where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he loves Shizuka), never detects a good job, begins his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. He's also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's devices (in one episode, he found a way to profitably use a device called 'the broadcasting mirror', for advertising, even when Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for this).
He can weave excellent string figures also, is a great archer, and a fairly good comic e book critic, due to the huge amount of their time he spends on reading them. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora a child. Nobita is weak at most things but has some strengths. Nobita can be very serious and in charge sometimes. Though he is shown to be poor academically, the real reason for it is especially his laziness, and he in addition has guaranteed good markings in multiple shows, proving his qualifications. He has often risked his life to assist in saving others or even entire civilizations in full-length reviews. Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is portrayed as being kind-hearted usually, emotional, honest, once in a while hard-working (like when he gets into a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. The thing preventing him from staying at home all the time, other than tinkering with Doraemon's devices, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to participate in baseball games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to venture out and play.
In fact, sleeping and comic book reading are most likely his only true hobbies one story features Nobita drifting off to sleep in three seconds simply by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. He dislikes taking place outdoor activities with his interest being taking an afternoon nap or reading comics, usually right after school. He is also a coward who is scared by almost anything, particularly ghosts, and a cry-baby (a jogging gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to bring out his gadgets, mainly at the beginning of the show).
Nobita's typical day involves arriving overdue to school, falling during class asleep, credit scoring zero (0%) (F's in the English dub) on his exams, getting scolded by his professor, being teased by his classmates Suneo and Gian, falling in the curbside rain gutters, getting chased by puppies after moving on the tails mistakenly, getting grounded by his mother for not doing his research, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind heart and soul and cares for him.
